Uckfield Gymnastic Club has been inspiring and developing gymnasts for over 40 years.
The club's roots go back to 1977, when Derek Ashdown discovered a passion for coaching while supporting his daughter at gymnastics training. After qualifying as a coach, Derek began running classes at Uckfield Leisure Centre and soon led a team of young gymnasts to victory in their first competition.
Following this success, Uckfield Gymnastic Club was officially established on 1st December 1982. As membership grew, the club moved to its current home in Maresfield in 1989, thanks to the dedication and hard work of parents, volunteers, and coaches.
In 1996, a combination of National Lottery funding, support from Uckfield Town Council, and extensive club fundraising enabled a major expansion of the facility, helping establish the club as one of the leading gymnastics venues in the South East.
Today, we continue to provide high-quality coaching in a friendly, supportive environment, helping gymnasts of all ages and abilities achieve their potential.
